You're the one that signed up for it > But they never asked to be treated this way Hm, I suppose I've only been visiting websites where admins often times get complained about when making changes to forums? I've seen this kinda stuff so many times that, for me, becoming an admin entails dealing with this kind of stuff from time to time. I haven't personally complained about any of the decisions they made regarding the selection of admins because honestly I'd never sign up for the kind of hassle it entails. Being an admin requires being a leader, I've done it before elsewhere, and this sort of thing is not uncommonly harsh treatment.

Revealing the applications would be a HUGE invasion of privacy to all those that applied. The selection process is secret and thats final. This thread alone is made because of jealousy! When you are turned down for a job, they hardly tell you why. When you are picked for a job, the hardly tell you why. SPOTM is a place to share ideas, but that doesn't mean it's system of government is completely transparent. It is apparent that the admins thought the Karson was the best choice. FOR WHATEVER THE REASON, questioning the process shows a huge lack of respect not only for the admins, but for the pogotribe in general, and I will not stand for it. In general Zak, you are a troll who is willfully trying, by trolling, as you so often do, to tear this community appart. Someone needs to deal with this problem decisively. Admins, this is your responsibility! How would it be a huge invasion of privacy? As you said, SPOTM is a place to share ideas and I am sharing an idea. This thread was created because an issue needed addressing, don't label the people who post in it as jealous. I have too much on my plate right now and being an admin on this forum would be the cherry on the cake, please leave jealousy out of this. As you said, after an interview they do not give you reasons about why they chose you or why they didn't. But after an interview you will have nothing to do with the people if you are not chosen. You, like speckly have misinterpreted what I said. The selection process is DONE, there will be no writing from the admins, it will be just the users writing. From the way people have talked about the choice, it is obvious that this will have repercussions in the future.. so it needs to be dealt with. Not ignored. This thread would be a better place if we discuss the IDEA not the PEOPLE. Stop talking about the admins/users or you are risking starting an argument. ps. I shall leave this thread for some time since I feel that I am apparently scaring people from posting. Good day.

Yeah, too bad we're not in 3rd grade anymore. You can't expect everyone get along with everyone.

jw - what's the big deal?
admins - woot...?
members - WOOT
non-members - recruit?
Everyone here is just another member of the tribe. Admins don't make massive tribal decisions without us, they just chose new people to help them run the forums b/c the few of them were having a lot of work on their hands. Does it really matter who they chose? I can understand that you might be upset if you applied and didn't get the job, but guess what - that's life sometimes you apply and don't get the job. No employer is gonna explain why not - their just gonna say: "sorry we thought that they were better suited for the job" no explanation. Does that mean you should start hating on the other applicants? or the admins? No, that defeats the purpose of the tribe. Try harder, show that you're dedicated and maybe next time you'll get the job.
As far as those who didn't apply and are being all 'complainy' about the situation, did you just not like the applicants who got selected? certainly if those who didn't get the job don't know why they didn't get it, the public certainly wouldn't be informed. There is no reason for this whole conversation to even be going on. An admin just has special privileges on the boards, and they have to use these privileges to do work @ no pay. They are as equal a part of the tribe as everyone else, just with more stuff to do.
End.

No employer is gonna explain why not - their just gonna say: "sorry we thought that they were better suited for the job" no explanation. I would just like to say, because this keeps coming up. For every job that I applied for when I was a teenager and during college that I did not get I called them back up and asked them why. And they did give me a reason why, which has shaped how I do interviews / answer questions.

Hrmm... I don't like the bad mood around here either.
But speaking of the choosing process, I remember clearly a while ago... the selection process for a new admin did have something with exposing the apps (anonymously) (sp?)
It remember people would send the application in, and someone (an admin perhaps?) would post them all in one board without the usernames and the members would vote for the admins based on these applicants? Something like that. Does anybody else remember that? I don't have a problem with what you admins are doing, I like our new admins! ^_^ But just saying, It was from a while ago though so I don't know if this process is outdated or not.

Hey, I only made this thread because Bree asked for it. I promise you, I did not ask for you to make a thread where people can bash admins.

I think this would've been avoided if comments like "cause he's hot" were not made multiple times when the first questions as to why he was chosen arose

I suggested that, and it was for mods, not admins. I would've been okay with it once, but when people continued to ask, the admins kept answering like that.

>We chose Karson because we liked him. He's a cool kid I counted that as well and also the several posts where the questions and concerns were altogether ignored I don't think that was silly. We took personality into account when we chose him as an admin. Cool! I'm not as afraid to post, since I created that thread of mine! =D Getting things off your chest is healthy. Mmhm.
