There are natural leaders here and I'm thinking now that Dan is one of them, as I said before leaders have to emerge, there was another thread about board hierarchy and the fact that people think of the admins as their leaders was sad. There are people here who I admire would follow and trust to lead me and they aren't necessarily admins, nor should they be.. because that is not the role of admin.Yes it is. xD I don't know if you still stand by that, but I just happened to notice that you basically laid out the role of the admin, then directly said that's not our role. So. Er. Yeah. SORRY IF I'M BEHIND IN THIS DISCUSSION. LOTS OF WORDS, YKNOW. I'm sorry but i feel you are wrong about this. You are regular members with a special project. You are the technical administrators of the forum. Leaders emerge. You do not emerge as leaders until people get to know and trust you and trying to force that only makes everyone upset and is counter productive. I said already that I like you guys and I'm sure some if not all of you will become natural leaders as I am hoping a lot of the regular (As in frequently logging on, not as in "normal") posters here will be . I think this idea is talked about a lot in Tribal Leadership and Dan even mentioned it in his new talk that leaders are "Not necessarily the people with powers" or something along those lines. It's all about making leaders out of everyone. Power is not what makes someone a leader. here are the rest of my ideas as I wrote them (in a script for a video that I never made) when I was here three days: These are just ideas guys. The admins are getting really upset and I don't know why, why can't you listen to the ideas and discuss them fairly even when we disagree... like we try to do in every other thread?

Admins are here to "lead" and set examples. I'm not sure why you're arguing this when you cite Dan, who I'm pretty sure has said multiple times in POGOTOKs what the admin's roles are. lol. I'm not saying we're are the only leaders in the tribe. That would be ridiculous. If that's what you think, I'd really like to know where you got that from. We are only the most obvious leaders.

I dunno if I should throw this back in your face, and as Courtney said maybe you guys are trying harder now.. but here you are setting an example in a discussion thread: I think it goes back to my point about Admins not even having time to take part in board activities and develop a relationship with the community. I'm pretty sure that was a one word answer to a thread you hadn't even read. Maybe you had a bad day, I dunno, no one's perfect. But that type of response is really disheartening when someone is genuinely wondering about something. And I've seen this happen so many times that I thought the cause of it must be the position yee were in and not the people yee are.

Hahaha, considering the title, I'd still post that now. I don't see anything wrong with it. There was a yes or no question, I answered. Honestly, if you have issue with that post, I think you might be trying a bit too hard to find something wrong.

If you can't see what's wrong with that post then I think I might as well rest my case. I think you might be forgetting that this is still a forum. Not everything has to be super serious and perfect and whatever. I'm sorry you didn't like my reply, but if I reply with a simple "no," then that's all I care to say on the subject. If someone asks for my opinion, and my opinion is as simple as NO, then why should I give anything more? And how is it your place to judge me for not giving anything more? I really think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill with that. srs. It'd totally see where you were coming from if I constantly made posts like that, but the fact is, I don't. I have 700 posts, and I'd urge you to find much more than 1% of them like that. I'm not perfect, and neither are you. When the world can call you perfect, then come back and complain to me about little things like that. (P.S. If you were perfect, you wouldn't come back and complain to me about little things like that. In case anyone missed the irony there. k. hi.)

Firefox Personas are dubm. true, that's why I use Chrome. OT: I agree with Bree here. Rebecca and Bree, you're both just repeating the same thing, it'd be best to just agree to disagree.

Okay, I'm going to be a little more clear.
The admins ARE, in fact, leaders on this forum. Their leadership skills are held much higher in regards than their technical and moderation skills. They are "natural leaders" who rose up. That doesn't mean other leaders can't rise up, it just means that they are leaders and should take their responsibility seriously. Their leadership roles may or may not become more evident in the near future, especially when we finally add moderators. It will be the moderators' job to, well, moderate.
I'm not speaking from my own opinion or bull SHIRT on why I think the admins are important. This is DAN BROWN'S vision for the admins and what they mean to this forum. If you don't find ME to be a reliable source for everything Dan Brown, then who will be?

Let's all just stop complaing and be a tribe and work discusse other things that the mods/admins,
..really? Is our result after months of discussing? BTW I think the admins are just regular members on the board here and in discussions so they can say what they want to (in a healthy, respectfull way) and sometimes they provide us with more information about what's gonna happen and/or if we did something "wrong"
so let's get back to the tribal thingy?

hey are "natural leaders" who rose up. That doesn't mean other leaders can't rise up, it just means that they are leaders and should take their responsibility seriously. Cool, jeesh. They were just ideas. I've only been here two weeks, how was I expected to know that? Everyone's got bees in their bonnets. I'm not allowed to have an idea or a view without being told to "shut the fuck up"? Why did this get so serious? I still feel there are lexical problems here. One thing that was clearly underlined several times by the admins here is that we are "regular" members and should know our place as such. This is always particularly evident in the suggestions forum where there are many popular suggestions (like a separate forum for art) which have been refused or rejected or ignored without any explanation why. It's the sort of thing that makes it feel like it's not "our" community at all. A simple discussion and explanation as if we were equal and not just "regular members" would make me feel better about this. That was exactly my point. Bree, if that was jocular response as you suggest I think it was unfair of you as it was a serious thread on a matter very important to me. To summarize it for you as you are obviously too busy to read it: I am surrounded every day by very intelligent and logical racists and I was terrified that if I kept an open mind I would become racist too. The people who responded seriously to that thread really really helped me and i feel much calmer and happier in the situation now. I've even been able to feel like I can gently express my views on the matter for once, all because thankfully not everyone was as facetious as you. It was not a yes no question, it was very important to me, and reading the thread would have made that clear. That thread really helped me and has had a hugely positive effect on my outlook on life.

RabbitWho, I think you made it serious, lol.
Sorry, but I think you're looking into things too much. Just trying to find issue with something somewhere. I mean, I just looked at the art thread you mentioned in Suggestions, and an admin hasn't even replied. That doesn't necessarily mean it's being ignored, we just haven't gotten around to it yet. Trust me, there are a tonage of things on our to do list before making a random discussion forum. Surely you can understand that? O.o
And no, my response in that thread wasn't jocular. That was my opinion on the subject. I honestly don't remember, but I probably just skimmed. Especially if it was a super long post. It was Debate Club. If you were asking for help, perhaps it should have been in Halp pls? There my opinion would have been irrelevant.
