thedawnbegun wanted to be an editor (3 posts up), could we squeeze her in or is 3 too many, or I can drop out We decided it would be less complicated to leave it to two editors. So its easier for them to find time to communicate, but if you guys find a good balance I think we might be able to add the third.

1st Writers' Meeting
So it's either today at 2 PM PST (5 PM EST, 10 PM UTC/GMT)... or Saturday at 10:30 AM PST (1:30 PM EST, 6:30 PM UTC/GMT). We'll try for today, but I'm not sure everyone can get here by that time. I don't think we'll be able to have everyone at the meeting, but I would like to include as many people as we can.

I can't go if it's today... SPECKLEY, I HAVE TO BE THERE! I know! And I really want you to be able to be there! =/ But I'm trying to get as many people as I can in this thing (and most of the writers weren't a part of the original meeting we had a few days ago). Key word: trying. We've got writers spread between at least four different time zones... it's a tricky thing. If it doesn't pan out today, we will have the meeting tomorrow.

Hi guys. I'm sorry I haven't been helping with the newsletter, but I was on vacation when the meeting on the 12th happened. I'm going to get Skype and chat with someone for the newsletter, hopefully.

Summary of the First Writers' Meeting (3/13/10) So, most of what we covered during the meeting was going over in more detail what sections will be in the newsletter, and what those sections would cover. We also decided on a minimum and maximum word count. Articles should be between 400 and 700 words. Here's the list of topics: Announcements (IMPORTANT!!!!1!!)Writers: chelseeyuh - Overview of POGOTOKS
- A list of things happening on the forum.
- A list of events/activities. (Dates, times, and places for Pogocasts, gatherings, etc.)
Projects (≥2 writers needed) Writers: pipinc123, dandelions8910, Linus, The Scientist - Highlights on projects. (Pretty self-explanatory.)
IntroductionsWriters: dandelions8910 - A list of the newest users on the forum
- User spotlight (twice a month). We were thinking that the User Spotlight would either be an interview with a new or active member, or a guest article from that user.
Anything and Everything (≥2 writers needed) Writers: speckley, Click3tyClick - Highlight topics in the main A&E forum
- Highlight topics in the Debate Club
Kitty CornerWriters: speckley (at least for the first few newsletters) If/when there are more writers interested in doing a piece for the Kitty Corner, the writer for that week will be selected at random. A random topic from the forum... - Forum games
- The Internets
- The general discussion in A&E
- Suggestions
- Basically, anything that's not already covered by the other topics.
Want AdsA place for projects to ask for volunteers. ("This project needs x amount of people for y")
I strongly encourage the writers of each section get together and discuss in detail what everyone will be covering. And hey, just because there are already writers in a certain topic doesn't mean that it's closed for all writers. If you want to join in on a certain section, there's nothing stopping you. (The Kitty Corner is closed to new writers for the time being.) Once we have a surplus of people, we will probably alternate between who's writing. The plan is to have someone writing each week. A section for the Tribes forum may be added once there are more things to cover in that section. It'd be nice to have a writers' meeting either once a week, or once every two weeks. What do you guys think? (At the very least, it'd be nice for the writers of different sections to meet regularly.)

In the user spotlight part I think you mean once every two weeks, right? Because biweekly means twice a week.

In the user spotlight part I think you mean once every two weeks, right? Because biweekly means twice a week. It can mean either, but biweekly usually means every two weeks. Semiweekly is usually used to mean occurring twice a week. Ambiguous prefixes FTL.

No, that would be 6 issues in one year.

If you bisect a worm you don't create two, you cut it in half :-) If you're bissexual you like two genders, not one half.

I guess it's only in order that we try to come up with some sort of meeting for the people in the Projects section? =) We should try to make some outlines as to how we should write our articles.
EDIT: I will be available today Monday, starting now (11 am EST) and through to about 5 pm EST, and also tomorrow Tuesday, starting from about 3 pm EST to 5 pm EST, and Wednesday from 11 am - 5 pm EST (All of these are more or less guaranteed).
