So I was just creeping around the forum and discovered that there is one member that goes by the name of "The Doctor" and has a blue police man box as his icon, and it says "Allons-y" in his signature. Now, I'm NOT ENTIRELY sure, but I'm THINKING this person is relating with the BBC show, Doctor Who. [/sarcasm about not knowing] Now, I recently starting getting into the show. Yes, I know, I'm a bit late to the game, but hey. I'm an American who couldn't figure out what channel BBC America is, or where to watch free Doctor Who episodes online. I had been wanting to watch it for over a year or something ridiculous like that, but I didn't know how to! Well, guess who just figured out that stuff extremely recently (as in two weeks ago....)!!! I must say, I'm completely hooked on it. I'm watching episode after episode on www.doctorwho-episodes.com/ . I'm switching off between watching episodes with 10th regeneration Doctor (David Tennant) and the latest, 11th Doctor (Matt Smith). Everyone I've talked to say that they like David much better and they don't really like Matt too much. I know I really shouldn't be throwing my two cents in when I'm still a Who Newbie, but I must say that I can't pick who I like better. So my question for you all is....... WHO ELSE HERE IS A DOCTOR WHO FAN?!?!?! *cough* And if you are, who is your favorite regeneration of the Doctor?

I'm new to the series as well. Now, I'm not a total n00b because I had watched a few episodes with Tennant when I walked in on my mom watching them, but I didn't have an interest. When I started watching episodes with Matt Smith, I was hooked. Doctor Who is literally my drug now. I even have a friend from England who was flat out convinced Matt Smith wasn't going to live up to the part, but he actually liked him a lot (I think I recall him saying that he like Matt Smith more than David Tennant).

Doctor Who is by far one of my top 3 favorite tv shows of all time. I started watching on the Ninth Doctor, but if I had to rank them I would say David was my favorite, following the current doctor Matt, and Christopher being a close third. That being said, each doctor has his own uniqueness and brings something new to the character itself. Glad to see other people here in the moon enjoy the show

I started watching Dr. Who somewhere between the end of David's and the beginning of Matt's. So far Matt has been my favourite Doctor, and I think he's doing a smashing job. Sometime soon I might actually watch all 26 of the old series, cause they look interesting

Oh, Hai there! I must say I love them all equally, or me, or us. I love Us equally! To all of you out there following a nonlinear, non subjective timeline of living. I just want to warn you, you can not read below this line, Spoilers, No really, I will spoil some of the story if you havent seen all of the episodes. I mean they all have immortal scenes that just sticks with you. 9th when the daleks shoot him and nothing happens, "null points" I mean, anyone thats evers seen ESC will love that one, 10th "Im the doctor, Im a Timelord, Im from the planet Gallifrey, in the constellation of Kestabrorous, Im the one who gonna save your lifes and all the sixbillion on the plante below". And the instant classic "here's one thing you never put in a trap. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap"
So, anyhow, I love the show. I nearly didnt make it through the hiatus last year with only 5 eps! Oh, almost forgot, Ive seen it since '05 aswell, and I fell completly and utterly inlove with it from the first second.

yeah, I think David tennant was the best regen. but matt's doing a good job, Dave's has been a hard one to follow. The 'Australian' ABC has been airing ALL of the Doctor Who episodes since forever. It's kind of like my families get-together. we all love it

David Tennant is definitely "my" Doctor, though I'm also a huge fan of Tom Baker (7th, I believe?).

I got into it in March I believe. Consequentially, that's also when my entire "Internet Social Life" began (When I found Dan, the Vlogbrothers, etc.). I went to a favorite Torrent Site of mine (PirateBay.org) and just downloaded EVERYTHING. Seasons 1-4, and the 2009 Specials. This is my recommended way of watching it! Every episode may not tie in to the next, but it's still important to see how The Doctor and his Companions change over time. Besides, I'd hate for someone new to be watching Rose battle the Slitheen, then go to Donna getting turned into a *NOSPOILERSASFG:HJKL:S* So I would start all the way back from the beginning of the 9th doctor, and go in chronological order to the 11th doctor. But that's just me David Tennant is MY Doctor, by the way. Get off'im

I love 9, 10, and 11 equally. I know I'm gonna get some crap for not choosing, but it's true. They all bring their best to the role.

I used to think that it couldn't get any better than Tenant. Then Matt Smith came along and blew the role out of the water. He's seriously my favorite doctor by FAR now. Stephen Moffat has done an excellent job with his first season as executive producer, and, I feel, way better than Davies did with any of his seasons. Usually there's an episode or two each season that I hate, but that is untrue for this season. New episode tomorrow, but it's on at the same time as the US vs. England game. 0.0

Alright, the writing is poo this season.
Pretty much any episode not written by Steven Moffat has been crap (or just "good"). Fortunately, the rest of the episodes this season are written by Moffat... unfortuantely, there are only two.

I did not really understand any of the technical stuff in yesterday's episode, such as how the Doctor got stranded there in first place...
But. Matt Smith in nothing but a towel. What more could you ask for? xD

It was really just about the comedian bloke and that woman, the technacil things were just to make it, you know, Doctor Who. It was a bit weird, a spacship disguised as a second floor. Just pretend it wasn't Doctor Who episode, only when you look at it like that it becomes good.

Okay, what's the best way to watch Doctor Who if you've never watched it before? I wanna start watching so I can contribute to this discussion. Which seasons should I watch? Are there any good websites (besides torrents) where I can watch for free? If not, I could queue it up on Netflix.

On The Lodger: I enjoyed this episode for the sole reason that I like seeing The Doctor out of his element. I didn't much care for the football scene, though. john: Check to see if your local library has each season (starting with the 2005 revival series). You can find a lot of the episodes on YouTube, though the video quality is not that great, and you would have to watch it in parts.
