Do something that benefit others. Like.. Well, I don't know, maybe (1.)take Dannerzz to the next years Nordic Light (http://nle.no/en/home/), it's a photography festival in Kristiansund, in Norway, or (2.) help old people to discover social media, (3.) form a collaberation online to make a feature film by sharing knowledge and donations (somewhat like Joseph Gordon-Levitt @hitrecord and hitrecord.com or Vincent Laforet with his "Story Behind the Still" on vimeo) and submit it to film festivals and release it online as well. Probably got more original ideas, somewhere locked up in my mind. LOVE the hitrecord idea. But we'd have to sort of make it our own somehow. Like, I think Joe's idea with the hitRECord site itself was everyone making a 'RECord' to represent themselves, right? Like music, or a picture, or a story, something tangible or intangible that defines them. I never saw the finished product, so I might be off base a bit, but something similar - just more off the pogoverse - might be good.

I would suggest travelling to a different location. Somewhere far-flung and where Dan has not been before. This also throws up rules and guidelines to vote for too. My idea would be: 1. You must only spend a certain amount of money. This should be moderated by the creation of a new credit card with this money loaded on it. 2. You cannot simply fly or take the train to the voted location/ state. You must either walk, bike, swim or take limited public transport such as coaches and buses. 3. You would be required to take a single bag. Voters will decide what goes in it and what cannot go in it. This would most likely be a monthly target and one that would progressively evolve. Sorta like a mini Dan 3.0 event. Of course you would have to take your laptop and possibly your phone to update the vlog. Afterall there seems to be free public wifi pretty much everywhere and anywhere these days. I have a feeling this would throw up some really interesting experiences and situations that you would be able to record, edit and upload for our enjoyment! Edit: Voters could also decide on a daily challenge that Dan should complete in order to obtain a reward. I really like jasons idea, maybe Dan can go to a train station or an airport and take the first departing train or whatever I like this, too. Very "Thirteen-Little-Blue-Envelopes". As long as it doesn't get too outrageous, or too plain-jane. I think transportation should be whatever is available, considering you can walk for two hours and get no where in most places, but if you get in a car or bus or train travel two hours, you can cross multiple state lines depending where you started from. Also, I think maybe we should just keep him in Nebraska for now? Most people would say out-of-state, but how many of us actually know anything about our own states/towns/citys/etc? I'd say we all know about an hour in two or three directions at most. Let's get him beyond that. What if we google map'd interesting nearby locations and sent him there? Things both he and we would experience for the first time?

Dan goes on a Pogotour of the world? From the China mini-series ( ) we know you're quite the person for traveling, so why not cap the whole thing off with a ton of meetups in the tribes respective branches?

I think Dan should open a donation site; one where we could choose what he does with the money. We should be able to see how much money we have collected, and discuss and vote what he should do with it. I like this one bestest...out of the one's I've read so far. It's important not just to get Dan to do things that will be simply interesting to watch, but things that will make a difference. So when it comes to August 2nd 2011, and it all ends, Dan will have a lot to be proud of.

I'm very interested in the charity potential of Dan 3.0. I love the charity concert or fundraiser ideas, but I actually think we can dream even bigger
I've corresponded with Shawn from the Uncultured Project, and he said he has spoken to Dan, and Dan is willing to spend some time in Bangladesh with Shawn if the community votes it to be so.
If you're unfamiliar with the Uncultured Project, it's a very grassroots project based around the YouTube community, where this guy Shawn Ahmed is doing projects in rural Bangladesh to help in poor communities with donations and suggestions from the YouTube community. It would fit well with the spirit of Dan's project as well.
Anybody with me?

You should see how much money you can raise in just 1 week then donate all of that money to the charity of your choice.

I think you should go around the country and have meet-ups in certain cities. Like what Phil DeFranco did a few months ago. Just something that would bring the PogoTribe together.

You should see how much money you can raise in just 1 week then donate all of that money to the charity of your choice. His weekly goal could be something along the lines as doing as much fundraising as possible. And perhaps rather than a charity of his choice, it would be more suitable (with this all being about us) to make it our choice.

I think Dan should adopt a puppy and train it to be a Seeing Eye Dog for the Blind. ^_^

I really think all of these "Tour De Pogotribe" ideas would be good for a finale. Like, have it happen July 2011 as the last big thing to be done. Also, the charity ideas should really be project-long goals in my opinion. We see how much money we've raised in a year, and August 2011, we donate it all at once (possibly in the form of over-sized novelty cheque?) to a charity (*cough*HPA*cough*)
Also, I LOVE the Uncultured Project idea.

Have Dan find 5 or 6 people who are deep in poverty, and have him give them cameras to film their everyday struggles. Make it into a documentary. This way, we (and the world) will be able to identify the best ways to help them out.

I like both your ideas: Firstly about your time idea for the "Tour De Pogotribe", as you put it, as it would obviously make a great finale and also could tie in to the second vidcon if there is one, of course. And the second idea about making the charity thing long term is also good, although I think even if the money-gathering is long term, he'd need a certain (smaller) period of time dedicated to fundraising.

EDIT: i do think it will be more intresting to watch if he goes out of the state at least once or twice

My idea was for him to write a play, gather actors, and ultimately produce the play, giving the profits to charity as a monthly goal. What do you guys think?

OK, people, I'm serious, I have an idea that I truly feel would be very very good, especially for the first monthly goal (August) and yes, I don't think anyone else would come up with this. The reason being that nobody I know off recently went back and watched all Shawn's videos (UnculturedProject).
In watching these I learned that the Pond Sand Filter that Shawn was able to place in Bangladesh needs maintenance after about 2 years, guess when that is... this August/September. We're going to get that thing maintained! We're gonna show the world that we don't give one donation that lasts X amount of time, feel good about ourselves and forget about it. YouTuber's aid like this should have longevity.
I don't know whether that means Dan has to GO there, or Shawn has to go there again, or whether we need to contact Save the Children, or how much money we need or where we're gonna get that from (I realize Dan says "Don't worry about the money") but all these can be daily goals with as the main monthly goal: "Get the nerdfighters-funded Pond Sand Filter it's bi-anual maintenance".
I signed up on this forum to bring you this idea ladies and gentlemen, don't let me down. When I submit this, this I want this to be the first monthly goal. There's an entire year to do all the other funny goofy things I read above and I think everyone suggesting things related to charity would be very happy to vote this one up.
WOW, and then just now I read julievlogs' idea, I'm with you Julie, are you with me?

I think that if Dan ever needs a punishment (hopefully he wont) he should be punished by only being able to watch Spongebob SquarePants for one entire day. The only time he could go on youtube would be to upload the video.

Dad should direct a movie, with talent from youtube...ONLY FROM YOUTUBE. Song writers, actors, directors, artists...etc.

I think you should go to your nearest mall and bring a boom box or something and record yourself doing some sweet dance moves
