My idea was for him to write a play, gather actors, and ultimately produce the play, giving the profits to charity as a monthly goal. What do you guys think? Yup...but insted of a play, a movie (so people who don't live in the USA can see in too) using talent from youtube. So that the people aren't famous, that way it'll be a real comunity project. I think it would be kinda hard to gather youtubers. If it was a play or a movie, Dan's probably partnered, he could post hour long content either way. Also, we could get him involved in his own neighborhood and community.

Okay, how about this: You put on a prom dress, a sombrero, cowboy boots, and a leather jacket. Then proceed to walk about in public whilst playing a violin guitar.

Monthly goal for Dan: Organize a Pogotribe meet-up. Im not going to lie, I like this idea. But I dont think this is Dan's job. Maybe we could organize themed meetings of pogotribe members in different locations (since well.. we all don't live right next door). I dont think it'd be too tough to do. We could easily organize these meetings within this site. Itd give pogotribe members another venue for creativity and community. Any takers? Totally...it'll be great because some of us don't live in the US and we'll be able to see other fans in different countries!

Daily Goal: Random acts of kindness. Perform as many as possible in the span of 24 hours.

One of my awesomest ideas that I thought of was if Dan would meet Obama, I don't know how, I don't know exactly for what reason, but he should meet Obama Also, there are this group of guys called "The Buried Life" ( www.theburiedlife.com/blog/) that sorta are doing something simular, and it would be awesome for Dan to meet them, just sayin' ;D

I still think we're being too broad and not very creative or specific. Maybe we should be thinking a little more out of the box? Everything we're saying has already been done. There HAVE been gatherings, there HAVE been youtube charity phenoms, there HAVE been youtubers who traveled the country basically living off of peoples couches and good hearts along the way. And we still need daily/weekly goals. Everything we've been going for thus far has been hardcore monthly. Hang in there! We're just warming up! ;D

I think, for a monthly goal, Dan should make a web app that allows us to create and collaborate on projects. I agree. We should be able to volunteer and help.

Oh of course, but it could easily be a daily goal to get him to drive three hours THAT WAY and explore. But more of a monthly/weekly goal to go anywhere farther. All great ideas. But I personally would love to see how he copes with limited items/belongings and pretty much only the bare essentials. Doing that would stick him in some really interesting situations which would almost force him to adapt to and form great video footage. An entire week or more for this 'project' would not neccesarily stunt the scope in which the voters can choose different things for Dan to do. Indeed, it would probably make it more interesting as more states and places become more easily available. Another suggestion: It would be interesting if Dan could secure a sponsorship of some sort that would allow him to have a GPS unit it on him that he would take wherever he went. That way people could track where he was if the information was made visual on an online map. Although that would tempt stalkers. :/ Bare essentials i am totally for. Hence the 13LBE mention (it's a girl who goes to europe with basically nothing but a 3000 dollar bank card, a change of clothes, and 13 little blue envelopes telling her what to do that toss her all across the continent, forcing her to meet new people and experience new things). Backpacker Dan is a win in my book, but we have to keep in mind that he's going to need time and planning for some things. More so WE'RE going to have to plan for him. So if we can get get him somewhere close and back home, we can get him anywhere. So lets do that first, and then work our way outward into the continental US and then most definitely the greater world.

My introduction: Hey pogotribe members. This marks my first actual interaction with the pogo tribe. i have been an avid watcher of Dan's ever since I saw his rubiks tutorial in the about 2 and a half years ago. I have watched all of his videos, and Dan 3.0 is going to mark the first time I contribute anything to this group.
Anyway, my idea is for a long term goal. I want Dan to learn West Coast Swing. WCS is a form of swing dancing that is something I personally love and therefore I think that everyone else should give it a shot. I'm not positive on what the WCS scene is like in Lincoln, but if he really wants he could drive a couple of hours to Manhattan, KS and I could teach him myself.
Anyway, just throwing my idea out there.

Daily Goal: Random acts of kindness. Perform as many as possible in the span of 24 hours. OoooOoooOOo me likes a lot. I know he doesn't want this to turn into vlogbrothers punishments or challenge charlie moments...but...maybe we could get a little silly here?...maybe put him in a costume. Have him hold doors and carry groceries with a snappy catch phrase? I don't know about you, but if someone helps me in plain clothes, it's fine, but if they're FORWARD about it, it's kinda suspicious. And Dan, to me, comes across as someone who can't help but be somewhat forward in his actions. Put him in a costume, though, and it will be obvious that its some sort of harmless stunt that people will be hopefully willing to participate in. And it will be silly :B

(No one remembers me...)
For one day, make a video DIRECTLY from the eyes of Dan Brown. There are glasses with camera's in them, which would be very cool. There could also be annotations to what you were thinking during the video. Film EVERYTHING (except for some of those nasty/inappropriate times in one's life), then make a video summarizing your day.

OH. FUN IDEA.
Interview with a stranger. See how many people he can meet/shake hands with in a day. Ever just see people and wonder who they are or what they're like? We should devise a short list of a few very broad and a few very specific questions and have Dan go out and find people in a park or super market or whatever that are willing to be on camera and just get a quick interview with them. Dan would have to answer each question as well to that person. They could learn about each other (this is like a community sort of goal)
Some questions could be: What is your name? What is your favorite color? What did you want to be when you grew up? Lets find something out that they have in common with Dan? Why are they specifically here (where ever here is) today? Did they have a goal for that day? Maybe Dan can help them with that goal? etc etc I think it would be fun.

I think, for a monthly goal, Dan should make a web app that allows us to create and collaborate on projects. That's a great idea, but Dan knows nothing about programming or creating apps. You could just submit this as an idea on the technical changes one. It's a great idea and someone at Revision 3, or someone Revision 3 could hire, would be able to do this. No need to make it a daily/weekly/monthly goal. :]

And I've actually brought up this idea before. Dan said it's highly likely an app will surface early on.

I think that the main goal of Dan 3.0 should be to do good for others. That's not to say that there shouldn't be fun things also, like random trips to the beach in the middle of winter to collect seashells.
Maybe start a new charity over the year, or at least raise money for an existing charity.
It's not an original or creative idea, but I think it should be taken in to consideration greatly with this new project. Maybe even make the fun things in to ways to help raise money.
For example take the seashells collected at the previously mentioned trip to the beach, sign them and auction them off to fans and give all the proceeds to charity.

Danielle, do you have veto power, as well? Or only Dan?

As a year-long goal, I think Dan should plant a geocache exactly fifty miles in every direction from his home. (North, South, East and West.) Each cache could have a theme that is decided upon by the pogotribe.
Or, as a variation: if Dan must travel more than 100 miles from home, he must plant a geocache somewhere near his destination.

Okay, so after thinking about it for a while I believe I have the perfect "strange, unique" thing for Dan to try out. It took a bit of thinking but I believe my project would be self-fulfilling as opposed to all the charity option which are really cool and would be self-fulfilling in a sense but in reality are just the fans telling Dan to do charities for them, in my opinion of course.
I think that Dan should try polyphasic sleeping. This would be a month-long goal and can allow him to discover some things about himself. The idea behind polyphasic sleeping is that one sleeps every 4 hours for 30 minutes. For the first few days you somewhat sleep-deprive yourself until your body starts to take every moment given to it to go into REM sleep, which is the revitalizing part of sleep. The end result is a ridiculous amount of extra time, and through this you can contemplate and find some things out about yourself like what you like doing more in your spare time and what are the things you would do while the "normal" world was asleep. I did this project myself as a self-growth project and to see if it would work and I think that it would benefit Dan to so it as well.
Anybody agree?
Also, one more thing. I actually dislike the idea of making "voting councils" or various other groups as Dan suggested. That seems more like a political party type of system and the end result is a split tribe. That seems very detrimental to level 4. I think a better idea would be to have the tribe AS A WHOLE agree on a specific idea. This may seem an arduous task, but it would be the only way to truly have full cooperation and understanding. I would assume there's all ready a thread on this somewhere on the moon, but I'm on a bad comp right now and the thread titles and so-forth do not show up.

Make music parodies... Shave your head bald... Eat KFC on Thursday nights... Buy a TV from the 90's and use it...
I have more after I eat :]
