Intentionally misleading title - please don't donate your life force - it will turn you into a zombie.
However, blood, in a way, is kinda like your life force, so grah.
ANYWAYS
My project idea is this:
We pick a month - and during that month any of us who are eligible to donate blood should do so - and we should all do it in honour of somebody, or some organization (I'll work on that later). So, during that month, blood services all over the world will receive donations from many people, all in honour of Dan Brown, or The Red Cross, or Terry Fox, or in honour of Gay people who have been barred from donating blood - something like that.
I believe the statistic is that one donation can potentially save up to three lives. So, if 15 of us donate blood, we could save the lives of 45 people. If nothing else, it's nice to know that you'll help somebody get the most out of life.
This is NOT intended to be an annual thing, nor is it intended to be a pogo-gathering. Whomsoever participates will donate on a given month to whatever blood organization.
So - in the US, you'd donate to the Red Cross, in Canada you'd donate to the Canadian Blood Service, in England you'd donate to the UK National Blood Services, et cetera
As for the specific month - I was hoping to delay on picking the month - I don't want to say March and expect everybody to conform.
I've made a form to organize people by way of when they can next donate. - Hopefully it works
Meanwhile, I also made a poll, so that people can say which month they'd prefer to do this.
Also - don't be afraid to throw suggestions at me! I welcome constructive comments.
EDIT: I changed things slightly
Rather then a drive for a month - it'll be for an entire year. Starting in January - and after every donation dedicate it (if you happen to be at a permanent clinic) to the South Poll of the Moon, and, if you can, take a picture proving the dedication (or of your actual donation) - at the end of the year, I'llmakeget somebody skilled in photo-editing to create a collage and we'll SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE DO!
Good idea? Bad idea?
Year too ambitious? I don't care.
