No...I will not migrate to another forum. This place has given me something that I have never gotten from any where else. No I will not side with any one persons ideas. Yet I will say this:
Though this forum may not get a lot of posts and some people have left. Plus I might add to the issue by not posting a lot cause of my busy schedule. I still feel that the Moon is very very very much alive. Its heart is still beating and giving this community something never experienced before. A place where everyone is welcomed and no one is turned down because they might be a little off beat. A place that fights for survival even when everyone says it will not live long. A place that will defend itself ti its last breath. This is my home, my forum home. So even if I don't post a lot I will voice myself when I feel needed like right now. So if you think the moon is dying I will gladly be ignorant and go down with the ship.

Like people have said, I don't see the need to give up on the forum altogether.

Anyone who gives up on SPOTM is a buttlicker. Now, if y'all will excuse me I have some butt to lick. =P lol jk As for merging with nerdfighteria, it seems more of a personal decision for each member rather than one we would make as a whole. There are people who will stay here. For whoever goes over there.... some will win... some will lose........ ......some will learn to sing the blues. But in any case, SPOTM will never thrive unless we make it thrive. And to do that we need to connect. Skype calls failed. Trying to email eachother never worked. Facebook page has thus been created. www.facebook.com/pages/South-Pole-of-the-Moon/179350112090847

In fact, we've just started a NERDFIGHTER + SPOTM skype. We'll be getting members from NERDFIGHTERS and SPOTM to join into this skype chat, and it'll just be a massive pile of awesome. If you want in, message me.

Okay, so the moon is deteriorating. In my eyes there are a few things to do about it:
1. Continue on as we are, ignoring the problem and still disintegrating.
This view, which is held by many, I believe is a bad one. Many people have posted here "I'm staying with the SPOTM until it completely dies." The fact is, people need to be actively taking part in making sure that the moon doesn't die to make sure it does not do just that.
2. Try to revamp the moon and get some projects started up.
This would get people who are hovering on le aving interested, and possibly stop some people from leaving, but the truth is this is very hard to do. Many people posted on the "Final Project" thread saying "I'm not taking part - I'll rejoin the SPOTM projects if they get up to full speed, but I really can't be bothered anymore [with good reason in my opinion]." This shows that major projects are becoming near impossible due to the lack of enthusiasm of Tribe members.
This lack of enthusiasm is caused by... members leaving! It is very hard to stay determined when the site is turning into a bit of a hole and admins don't seem to care one bit.
To fix this some have proposed:
2.1 To get someone with a large following to advertise SPOTM
This is also very difficult and in my eyes, not realistic at all. The Vlog Brothers are most likely not going to advertise this site, since it is not the only site of its kind, and certainly not the best or most productive.
3. Quit the SPOTM
Admins have a problem with this, since they have been bestowed with positional power, and would lose this power if the moon was to be abandoned. This is also a bad idea since it causes a community with potential to go to waste.
3.1 A branch off of this idea is to join another site, such as nerdfighteria.
I believe this is a ridiculous proposition - many members would be lost in the merger, the site we would go to would have different view to those of the Pogotribe, and members would feel estranged by the unfamiliarity of the whole experience - the tribe would go to waste. All of these ideas are bad - so what's there to do? When there's nothing to do, it's pretty clear where the site is going.
So Camoon - ditching the site, as barren as it is would not be conducive to anything, and migrating to another site would fail completely.
To Bree - Pretending like there is nothing wrong with this site and the large number of members leaving does not pose a problem is not helping at all. Something does need to be done, and as and admin I would expect you to follow through with such acts.
A few people have said "I agree with Bree - this site is awesome!" I don't think they not what they are agreeing with. Bree thinks that "this place sucks. I really don't care." This view is getting us nowhere.

So, tristant, any suggestions on a solution that could work?

I think we should get with people and do IRL projects. The people we meet irl while doing these projects would then know about SPOTM and we could then actually grow out as a community whilst doing something about wolrdsuck in our communities (communitysuck?).

So, tristant, any suggestions on a solution that could work? To be honest - no. Some people said that we need Dan to grow, and some disagreed with that. I however agree. We came together through Dan, and with Dan having ditched us, we will not grow. Youtube has hundreds of millions of users, which is what allowed Dan's subscriber base to grow by the thousands and in turn allow the SPOTM to grow very quickly when it first started out. Telling individuals about the SPOTM and advertising to individuals will not give sustainable growth. I truly think that there is nothing to be done but persevere, and this will probably, yet sadly lead us nowhere.

per·se·vere/ˌpərsəˈvi(ə)r/ Verb: Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no indication of success.
I don't see any action in the community, just talk. I think if we took action we could actually push through this, but for the past 3 months or so nothing has worked...

The increase in activity may have something to do with the mass e-mail I sent earlier, too. Either way, it's good.

I'm willing to bet that a contributing factor in the sudden drop in activity of new members on the moon has to do with the whole domain thing. Not everyone has the patience to find the moon via google when southpoleofthemoon.com doesn't work...And it makes Dan and the moon look very incompetent when the domain that HAS always been plugged in Dan's vids isn't registered.
Again, this is my professional industry that I work in, and I see the analytics all the time. I'm just sayin.
