I don't want to go against anyone specifically, but lets try to keep this limited to books that might help end, or understand world suck

the lost symbol was awful and stupid! dan brown at his worst! Wow, what? I strongly disagree with that. Maybe it's because I really dig the genre and his style of writing, but I thought it was a great story told in an amazing way. I don't want to go against anyone specifically, but lets try to keep this limited to books that might help end, or understand world suck I must sheepishly admit that I didn't watch the videos in the original post (and I still haven't). I definitely didn't realize your actual goal here. I thought it was just a for-fun kinda deal and that we should suggest books we think are awesome. My bad, I guess. I'll add some more on-theme after I sleep on it and do a bit of research.

A couple classics:
The Woman in Black - A horror/ghost story style book about a mysterious woman. It's terrifying. Seriously. 1984 - A dystopia look into the (then) future of 1984 where the thought police govern the world.
More recent books: Stone cold - A teenager becomes homeless after being kicked out. A killer lures in homeless people. It explores some big question. It's awesome.
Erm okay I can't think of any more. I should read more. xD

"Stop the suck: Read a book!" T-shirts... Anyhow...this is an epic idea. I may definately look for the first two books mentioned whether the book club chooses them or not. No bookstores around here, but I'll hit a library or Book Mooch for sure.

I'm currently reading Tribal Leadership by Dave Logan and I would highly, highly recommend it to everyone and would like to nominate it for the book club. Dan Brown has been in conversation with the author about how to direct our tribe. It's really an amazing book, consisting of wisdom gathered from thousands of people from dozens of different tribes. You can find the link to the free audiobook in my signature or go to www.triballeadership.net/ for more info. No matter what we read, I'm excited for this.

I suggest the book Snow by Orhan Pamuk. It's a really intelligent novel about the political problems of modern day Turkey. It won the Nobel prize for literature!! I just stumbled upon it in the book store once but it's really a great read, albeit a little hard to handle in some parts.

That's awesome! If I could make two suggestions: First, to put the twitter link in your original post. Second, I'd like to format the suggested book list so it's a bit easier to tell between the Book and who suggested it: Just my two cents, feel free to use this format if you want to, and if not, that's cool too.

depending on the book, ill participate so then what's your standard for particpating? not having read the book? it being of a certain genre? something else? (just interested ) my suggestion (also tweeted this): "Waiting for the Barbarians" by J.M. Coetzee. Why? Because it's one of the most amazing books I've ever read.

Dan Brown mentioned the book club in his latest live show. I really hope he reads the books with us. I am going to send him a copy of the book, when we decide which one to read. So that means I need to buy 2 books!
