Why don't we all decide for ourself what we call it? =D That's much more convient since if you don't like a name then you use another
Personally I use the name that suits the best with the topic i'm using it in

my last take on the topic: www.southpoleofthemoon.com would be branded SPOTM and nothing else, having a section of it marked as pogotribe - dans tribe, dans community. This would allow the opportunity of starting a new, independent tribe on SPOTM which goes by another name.

A Tribe is a group of people. The Moon is a place. It doesn't make sense to call a group of people a place.

Although I think it wound be better if the forum that's about dan would be on a separate URL (like pogobat.com).

Although I'm gonna do my best to get the header changed to South Pole of the Moon. ..You should just consider that mission accomplished.

What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name, And for that name which is no part of thee Take all myself.
I think that pretty much summs it up. the name is the thing that matters the least. i mean honestly, there have been sillier names in history with deep connotations grown on to them. similar to that of a person's name..
i think this needn't be a topic of discussion

I just thought of something, regarding the name PogoTribe. We may not have anything to do with pogosticking, but we could still use the name if we turn "pogo" into P.O.G.O. (I know we already have a couple of prominent acronyms, but please humor me.)
The big question is... what would POGO stand for?
Questions? Comments? Concerns?

People Organizing Good thingsOnline? This looks very lame on acronyms. You're not supposed to include the 'things' in it. And that's not an unusual thing to do.

I don't see a problem with any of this. PogoTribe is who we are. You can call us whatever you want, but we ARE the PogoTribe, no ifs ands or buts about it. The South Pole of the Moon is where we are (symbolically, at least). I AM a member of the SPOTM, but I'm much more than that, I'm a member of the PogoTribe. The SPOTM is a forum. The PogoTribe is a community.
(For the record, I am not opposed to referring to ourselves as cornmuffins. Delicious.)
