Just to throw out a couple concepts that might be includable in the noble cause:
- Global Communication -- everyone on the planet with a voice - Global Freedom of Information -- no censorship, transparent government, freedom of speech worldwide

The thing is... when you look at all our topics, they all are pretty much there to decrease word suck, but your right, it is to vauge. Right now if you only have a few seconds to think about it you would say "to decrese world suck" but that is impossible. Yet, when you take Dan's example on the baseball team when there goal is to reach a perfect team, thats an imposible goal either. I'm saying that we CAN have an imposible goal.

I haven't watched the video because I'm going to bed so I don't know for sure. I don't want to lose an idea though. How about create a way for major countries to start having a full out democracy. (ie. Every person that wants to gets to vote) sorry of I'm confused about this. Good night

right now I think that our noble cause should be "don't go crazy while dan holds back his secret project from us" and then we can work from there

- Global Communication -- everyone on the planet with a voice I was totally thinking something along those lines. Maybe we have kind of a two-fold goal. First, we wish to have at least one representative from every country on Earth in our tribe. Sort of like PogoTribe ambassadors. Then, with the ambassadors in place, we strive to give a voice to every person in every country who wants a voice -- whether it be regarding poverty, politics, health, hunger, clothing, shelter, warmth, it doesn't matter. If we could use the internet and our tribe to build such a unified global network (the likes of which DEFINITELY does NOT exist now), we will most certainly make our world a better, more hospitable place to live in. I mean, imagine a world where >85% of the world knew each other. The possibilities with such open communication would be endless.

Yeah I have a feeling once the big secret project is announced a lot of these incidents will go away. Making it public now wouldn't put on as big a show T_T

Is it even possible for us to figure out the noble cause without knowing what the secret project is?

When I say everyone has a voice, I basically mean that it's made possible for anyone to be able to speak to anyone who will listen. Kind of like YouTube, really, only a lot of places simply can't afford access (and others may censor it). Censorship of speech is nearly never necessary. Racial slurs are bad, but they're not illegal. Libel and slander are of course. But there are countries in the world where speaking an opinion can get you imprisoned or killed. Others like China and Iran most prominently, but even Australia to an extent, seek to censor online communication. Government transparency is a tougher one to pin down. But on anything that isn't a matter of security to keep secret, I think the public should be aware of what occurs in government. This is done fairly well in Canada, and from what I've seen decently in the states, but again you look at countries like Iran and everything is run behind tightly closed doors. Mainly, I think it would be a good goal to enable anyone to communicate with anyone as openly and widely as is possible to accommodate. Nobody should be unable to contact friends or family from afar simply due to inaccessibly of communication methods. Everyone should have the opportunity to speak their mind on public issues, and not be imprisoned for it. Countries should not censor out parts of the Internet they disagree with. That's the ideal. I don't mean to take it to the extreme of course. Much like people who like social policies aren't communists, nor are people who like conservative policies fascists, so am I not a anarchist lol. If I were to sum it into a single sentence: I would like to see the entire world have access to the freedom of information and communication that we have here in Canada and the USA (and many other countries).

Create equality in education and communication.
That includes everything inside World Suck.. Teach people how to improve themselves and how to improve relationships with the rest of the world. I think it's not too vague, but it's not too specific either..

Is it even possible for us to figure out the noble cause without knowing what the secret project is? It'll probably become clearer and eaiser to determine what out noble cause is but that doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss it or try to come up with some ideas now

First off, i'd like to say thanks to the admins and Dan for being more transparent. Second, I think that the Pogotribe's noble cause is to improve everyone's lives through the power of the internet. Once we accomplish something like that (i.e. making it so you could vote through the internet at your house), we can disband, although I hope we never do.

Is it even possible for us to figure out the noble cause without knowing what the secret project is? Ehmm... I think you guys can figure out a noble cause without it. Then again, there is no deadline for this discussion, so it may be that Dan's project is revealed in the middle of it. If that happens, and if you guys believe it changes the tribe's purpose, then so be it. Personally, I think it's fairly separate, but by no means can I provide a concrete answer to that question. Maybe you ought to wait for Dan to come along and answer this one. =P

Our noble cause should be the most ambitious thing anyone has ever come up with: Utopia.
This TED talk (mainly near the end when he talks about healing spots) I think is relevant.
