Well unless these Muslims are lying when they say they are offended then yes, of course it is offensive. But that's irrelevant really.
I am incredibly offended by a steak done anything more than medium rare. Should we burn all books that include cooking times for well done steak?
I don't think offending people is a good thing. It violates the Golden Rule for a start. But I do think that some Muslims (and non-Muslims for that matter) need to understand the concept of a RIGHT. Not one or one million people stand in the way of a right especially one as important to us as freedom of speech.

Jake, you're right in pointing out that my comparison was in no way a direct parallel. To be honest, I don't think it's every really possible to draw direct parallels for complicated issues such as this one.
The question of "Just because we can, does it mean we should?" is a fairly loaded one, and frankly, I'm impressed by how mature most of us have been about discussing such a sensitive topic.
If it isn't unforgivably immodest: Go, us!

It does seem like provocation to me. This is not a good way to defend free speech. It is wrong to go against millions of peoples beliefs. yes, free speech is important. yes killing because of a picture is absolutely wrong. No, i dont think disrespect towards a religion is the right way to go. alot of people take it too far.

It It is wrong to go against millions of peoples beliefs Millions of people believe that there should be no condoms in Africa. Millions of people didn't (don't?) believe in Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. It is absolutely right, and *necessary* for a well functioning society to question the beliefs of *everyone*. DB says it at the end of every video: don't be a zombie!

I cannot respect people that intent to infringe on the rights of others. Specifically with the threat of violence.
Drawing a picture is covered by the first amendment rights.
The reason this all started was because the artist was comparing Islam to a violent and dangerous religion. While I cannot believe in the generalization made, I condemn the radicals more for taking an insult to violence.
So yes. I fully support the DMD movement. I think it is a strong "You will not and cannot bully us into giving up our rights!".

They pretty much deserve this, a few people drew Muhammad and they took to the streets in violence. It's called getting over yourself and pulling that stick out of your ass.
