ok, so to sum this up, we all agree that creationism should be the only subject in all schools, and to teach anything different is a sin. Case closed! Yeah lets just teach people about the talking snakes, and magical fruit.

While I will hope that this is sarcasm, I wonder how many athiets (as well as Christians alike) realize how much of a metaphor that story actually is...

It's really unclear whether it is or not. Genesis was written by Moses, for all we know he actually believed it to be true. It's fairly clear that the New Testament is metaphor heavy, as Jesus enjoyed telling stories to make moral points, but there's no clear way to tell about Moses' writings, especially given that they were in a much earlier and even less educated time.

Even a majority of jews take most of the readings of the Torah to be metaphors, including the story of genesis, and since they interpreted it first, I'll go with their version

I agree it is better taken as a metaphor than reality (but then, it is better not taken at all than either), but as far as the intent of the work as either metaphorical or literal, that would be all up to the writer, Moses; that's all I meant.

Quick question:
Does humans having appendixes and tonsils have anything to do with evolution? Can that be used as proof as well?

for me its evolution ftw! i think its closed minded not to consider it, but i also think its closed minded not to look at the other side to this and respect it. people can believe what they wanna.

I'm not sure about tonsils or wisdom teeth off the top of my head (they may be as well), but the appendix is one of our "vestigal organs" like the tail bone -- that is, organs that used to have a purpose, but whose purpose died when we no longer needed it. They double as great examples of why intelligent design is unlikely, since they wouldn't have been included by a truly intelligent designer.

From a scince website:
Anthropologists believe wisdom teeth, or the third set of molars, were the evolutionary answer to our ancestor’s early diet of coarse, rough food – like leaves, roots, nuts and meats – which required more chewing power and resulted in excessive wear of the teeth. The modern diet with its softer foods, along with marvels of modern technologies such as forks, spoons and knives, has made the need for wisdom teeth nonexistent. As a result, evolutionary biologists now classify wisdom teeth as vestigial organs, or body parts that have become functionless due to evolution.

Nakor, tailbone is still very important, it lets you sit straight.

Dog breeds prove evolution.
Unless there's some sort of CONSPIRACY.

Dog breeds prove evolution. Unless there's some sort of CONSPIRACY. Wouldnt it be kindof cool if there were human breeds, like humans with different abilites or body parts?

Well, I suppose our "races" are the equivalent of breeds. I mean, it's the same sort of thing: depending on conditions, we've evolved. For example, the Asian epicanthic fold developed on people living in the mountain regions such as the Himalayas to prevent snow-blindness.

Like people that live near the ocean growing fins instead of feet.

You're right, the tail bone isn't a true vestigial. My bad there, I was trying to remember them off the top of my head. There are enough vestigial organs though.
