I believe tht age does not play a role into sexuality of a persons being. I want to kno what is ur view on how young is too young...for sex. I believe it requires a maturity level to understand tht sex can change who u r as a person and be prepared for tht change. What is your view on this? plz reply to this so i can get all ur intake on this subject.

Personally, I think age does play an important role, as I highly doubt that a twelve year old has the maturity. Don't get me wrong, maturity is a huge factor, but the maturity definitely doesn't come until much later in puberty.
Frankly, it depends on the person for my opinions. My best friend is almost sixteen, but if he went out and had sex with someone, I'd be deeply disturbed by that.

i think its age and maturity. well, maturity in general. you need to have physical maturity and to have gone to puberty to physically have sex, and then mental and emotional maturity to deal with it and its consequences, good or bad. it does depend on the person, but when you get into the range of "adult" it should be fine. then again that depends, because some people are in that range and do not know how to control themselves and deal with the consequences. its mostly maturity, and some age.

You'd be surprised by some of these kids these days. Each generation is getting shorter and ruder, there's no telling what they're thinking about at age 6 nowadays.

I think we all agree that it depends on the person physical and mental maturity, with mental being much more important than physical, so:

^I don't think you can end a thread that quickly...
As for my opinion, I remember saying something like this on the "Too young to date?" thread: If you're not sure if you're old enough, you're probably not.

You also should factor in the concept of being mature enough but not wanting to have sex, as well as the fact that there are obviously many adults who aren't mature enough to handle sex

Canada's rules regarding statutory rape for comparison purposes:
The age of consent is 16 with the following exceptions: (a) Whenever one party has a position of trust such as a guardian, teacher, doctor, etc., the age of consent is raised to 18. (b) A child of age 14-15 may consent to sex with anyone up to 5 years older than them. (c) A child of age 12-13 may consent to sex with anyone up to 2 years older than them.

i think before 14 for females is too young and before 12 for males is too young... but but really it depends on a persones matturity really if your male and you think your readdy at 11 or go for it. on the flipside if your 19 and decide to be temporarely abstinent thats fine too.
