Welcoming Task Force (WTF)Let's continue this discussion, and stuff ^^ So, basically we're on the subject of: how would we carry out the process of making sure new members get welcomed? Should we have a wiki page for it? Please discuss this and other key points in the old thread, should you want to.

This is the last updated post that has information about the task force:
Besides the projects and the video intro what needs to be changed?

Why is there little time to do it? Dan Browns plug about the moon = more new people More new people without a proper greeting = Unhappy people who decide to leave Unhappy people who decide to leave = low population in the moon low population in the moon = death of the tribe Now you know what I mean?

The post above your" What are you talking about? "question has the information that was taken from the last updated post of this project that was made on the old forum before this, the new forum, was made.

You, sir, need to get your facts straight.
Tribe's existence= almost 6 months Tribe= alive Me= Never had proper greeting Me=just jumped right into discussions and didn't need a greeting.
Look, it's really cool that you're taking initiative to get something done. That's the most enthusiasm I've seen here. It would be great if you used your enthusiasm for a more worthy cause. I think that a greeting would be nice, but it's not imperative to the survival of the tribe. The tribe's doing fine.

we're still kickin' but i think it'd be hard to keep track of all the new members without an automated greeter account.

I've been on tons of forums with automated greeters. They're cheesy.

I think a personal greeting is important to people who come and are lost.
Imagine you come on, and don't know what to do? Wouldn't it be cool to be paired with someone awesome who can help you?
Someone to point you to the channels on youtube or vimeo, and to say this is how it generally works here?
People come from all over the world to visit the moon. They want to know about our culture, they want to participate, and they have questions. I don't see why someone shouldn't take some time out and help them. It should be all of our responsibility. I am going to say hi to a new member RIGHT NOW!
Remember: Awesome for good, Embrace inner weird, and always Dream BIG

Wow, I've had this idea of how to welcome people to the tribe on my mind today, and it's really exciting to see it on the minds of others on the moon. I've been dreaming up a "Welcome to the South Pole Of The Moon!"sticky thread, which might include the following: -an explanation of the Pogo Tribe and it's values (with links to Dan Brown's videos) -Information on Tribal Leadership and Stages, the free tribal leadership audiobook, and similar materials. -A buddy system, to link new members with someone that can help them get more involved -Links to the Pogotoks and an explanation of the current major activites of the tribe (e.g. triadic cycles that Dan is currently orchestrating) -Links to some of the independent projects that are running, namely ones that are fairly simple and easy to participate in, to encourage involvement in the tribe and a sense of community What do you guys think? As a side-note, I think it should be on the minds of everyone in the tribe to be a sort of welcoming force, and to help each member of the tribe to a stage 5 mindset and level of involvement.

In that case, anyone who is going to work in this project has to be fully committed. This might mean sending messages to two new people per day. So anyone who can't do it, do not volunteer!!

I've been hearing about that but i'm kinda clueless. If you guys do start a sticky thread i volunteer to be one of the members to be 'buddied up' with.

A sticky thread would be great, but welcoming messages are cheesy. If, for some reason, there was a welcoming message, it would probably be automated.

That's the spirit! Nobody's stopping you from messaging new members. If you honestly think that'd be good, go ahead!

Excuse me, sir, but I don't like your tone. My life-span on this forum far surpasses yours. I believe that you have been on this forum for under twenty-four hours. My experience here isn't a lot, but I have been here for probably twenty times as long as you.
You are in no position to tell me what to do. You could calmly ask me to leave, but, instead, you decided to scream at me in a post with improper grammar. I am trying to deal with this situation calmly. I don't mind that you don't want my help. Please, be rational. I understand that we all have our "troll moments" but try to control yourself. Thank you.
