No need for a check list, take volunteers and give them a letter of the alphabet, brave volunteers can take two or three.
Say one brave person has ABC, they welcome everyone who's user-name begins with A B or C, someone else has D and E, one very lazy person only has Z etc.

Here are some of my thoughts:
- How are we going to know which members had just sign up for a new account? (lets say in the last 24 hours)
- Can we send personal automatic messages? (same information on all but only a small personal touch from the people of the WTF)
- Whoever is volunteering say so! Its easier to complete the project if we know how many people are actually going to work in it. Don't volunteer lightly... (Approximately two messages per day)
-We need a list on the wiki where we can cross over their names once we greet them

By the way now that this thread has reached 4 pages we need to create a new one starting with all the information gathered and delete this one. No one is going to go through all 4 pages, and we'll lose volunteers... Can we do it?

Why do you think threads with projects die after some time but when they are created they are super active and everyone is posting? Is because there isn't much to read. If we summarize everything that was said in this thread and write in on one post we can have new people from the tribe still interested on this project.
All that needs to be done is write down all the ideas and the names of the people working on it, then post it. The problem is I'm not sure how to erase a thread. that's why I'm asking.

You could probably ask an admin to do it. But yeah, I don't know how either. :/

-We need a list on the wiki where we can cross over their names once we greet them And that's the thing we can't really do. It's too much work and, as I said before, probably demands a too high a level of organization and communication than we can mobilize. Or is it?! prove me wrong! It'd be awesome if that could work out.

Breepop then how was it expected of us to target all new members of the tribe and send them a private message if we can't even know who they are?
Could you please as Patrick if there is any way of getting the names of the people that signed up in the last day or hours?
If it isn't possible then the only way the project can go on is if we make it an automatic message, maybe add the welcome video to make it more personal.
but what else can we do?

I'm sorry to say Bree doesn't believe automatic messages are an option in this forum, and there is no way to get the names of the people that just signed up for an account...

Most forums allow you to view a member list in order of when they joined starting with the newest.
That along with what I said about assigning letters of first names to different volunteers makes this very doable.
Is it worthwhile? will there be enough volunteers?

I'd be willing to do that, if there's a clear way to do it.

Well you can figure out who is the newest member to sign up very easily. On the bottom of the first page, look there and there is a newest member!
I sometimes take time to pm them... Sometimes they pm back. Sometimes they don't. But I think they appreciate someone who took the time to talk to them. I am not a part of this project. I do it to grow pogotribe in my own way. But yeah, thats how I know who is the latest member

Another way which might work: Click on members above, filter list by top posters. Then go to the END OF THE LIST (currently page 48). Those who never posted or posted a few times will most likely be newer members. Just click on the names and see when they joined.
I hope this helps. It is not a sure fire way, but it does (occasionally) work

I would volenteer, hosting solutions like forumation manage stuff like that... I'm not sure why they chose proboards... it can't do as much as most I have ever used
