i believe israel should go back to palestein we cant give a people a country just because it belonged to the thousands of years ago with that logic america should give its land back to the native americans

i really dont understand why people keep saying that...it never belonged to the palestinians...even if you disregard the claim that the jews had the land from biblical times, trhe british still handed it to them. they fought for it, they won it...i fail to see why the palestinians have anything to do with it

Because they actually lived there, but hey, what do I know? I think its really wierd that Korea and Japan and Iraq doesnt belong to the USA, I mean, they fought for it, they won... And how come GB doesnt own Germany? And why is Poland still a self ruling country, the Russians didnt loose WW2, they should have no problem keeping it, and how come Kosovo is a self ruling country now-a-days?
While we are at it! Why doesnt Alaska belong to Russia, noone even fought over that piece of land, just an exchange of money!
BTW, I was thinking of giving away southwest Nevada to the Israelis, I mean, noone lives there, and its way bigger than Israel!

Yeah, then why do white people rule USA? It doesnt really matter if someone lived there 200 or 2000 years ago, it matters who lives there and who is occupying. But as I wrote before, it was to long ago that the jews/Israelis occupied Palestine for it to matter anymore, now its about making up, about the Israeli goverment to stop building on land they are not allowed to build on, to stop discriminate the arabs living in Israel, and its about not bombing the hell out of civilians just because you cant find the terrorists..
Because that is the thing, it doesnt really matter if the otherside is killing civilians, because as long as you are doing it to, your definatly not the good guy, especially if the otherside is isolated groups in society and you are indiscriminatly killing all groups of that society.
And sure there are Palestinian terrorist organisations, no doubt. Adn they are bad guys, killing civilians, but they arent the army of a country, they dont have a goverment to stop them from doing stupid things, they dont have international law to adhere to. That is why its hard to fight crime/terrorism because they do what they want. But it does not excuse the behaviour of those fighting them, I dont hear anyone saying the police should be allowed to shoot suspect people on sight. As a matter of fact, most armies dont even have those kind of orders..

i think they should just get along it is not to hard to ask but it do not think that they will do that any time soon as they like having a go at each other and killing many people in the process
fight with flowers not guns :)

i like how he implies that its a dictatorship theocracy...fascinating. it really isnt. it is true that currently a number of the laws are cenetered around the bible and orthodox law, but that in no way makes it a dictatorship theocracy. each law can be changed in israel if the people want them to be, and many of them are now being changed. so yes noam, israel IS a democracy.

Noam isn't here Bomb. I think you should read/listen to Chomsky. I was listening to him a lot yesterday (trying to find stuff on linguistics) and I thought of you several times! You don't have to agree with him, but he never fails to be interesting.

Maybe he'd prefer you stay in your area of absolute knowledge, innovation, and expertise.

here's the difference: if i get something wrong here, maybe i influence 2000 people, at MOST. if he gets something wrong he has a much wider audience a more receptive audience to influence, and he is wrong so many times
