Trey, ya I think ur call is right. I totally saw RPattz *drools* as Edward. I mean, I think when you actually SEE it on-screen, you can fit the actors to the characters to the books. And, I also didnt see Jackson Rathbone as Jasper Hale. It was a bit confusing. But, I loved Edward, Alice, and Emmett in Twilight. They COMPLETELY suited the Cullens in the books

Heh. Twilight debates xD Twilight is like literary junk food, it's alright as long as you have proper stuff too. Some fantasy(ish) books that I love at the moment is the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness, starting with The Knife of Never Letting Go - it's amazing, and completely different from anything else I've ever read

Debate Club? o.O If you want fantasy novels that are light page turners but still with some substance, and actual fantasies, I'd say Xanth by Piers Anthony. Though if you want romance I can't help there. Yes! THIS! I love Piers Anthony. Thank you for having good taste in books.

I decided to try a new vampire fantasy series when I was at the bookstore today. Since I refuse to even touch the Twilight series I chose Marked (book 1 of House of Night) by P.C. & Kristin Cast. Hopefully it will be good.

OHH! IM READING THE FIFTH ONE IN THAT SERIES @stefan5000!!! I lovveee those books they are a totally (well, not TOTALLY) diff view on vamps. they dont sparkle too. one really interesting book I read recently that everyone should read was "The Forest of Hands and Teeth". Its an apocolypse book, but it is beautifully written

Wow, nobody even mentioned this...
Twilight turns people into zombies. A lot of the people who seriously love/hate twilight only love/hate it because everyone else is. So, PDBAZ.
Sorry I just had to mention that.
Anyway I havn't read many fantasy books in a while, although I should read some soon because I do really like them. Suggestions?

Well! *huffs breath* IM a twilighter and IM not a zombie! Blarggggggg. BRAINS!!!!TWILIGHT!! jk jk lol ;D But some really good Fantasy books are Vampire Diaries (and note, this is a GREAT series. It was made in 1991 I think, and it is TOTALLY diff than Twilight. Well, other than the vampire element to it), House of Night, The Forest of Hands and Teeth (this ones about the apocolypse!!ohh! BRAINS!!), and I really liked Wicked Lovely. In my mind those are fantasy books

For what Twilight is, I guess you could consider it a decent trilogy (NOTE: For what it is) Twilight is a good book for someone who wants simple characters in couple with an easy read. That being said, Stephanie Meyer's 'perception' of Vampirism annoys me to no end, although that is only because I love Gothic Horror. I wonder how many Twilight fans even know who Bram Stoker is.
Fantasy writing in general, well, I don't know. I prefer reading books about cereal killers. Fantasy can be good if it isn't overdone and if it is syringed with grim and despair.

^ I am suddenly reminded of Mostly Harmless, "The fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhikers Trilogy."

I thought Twilight was in the section "Pieces of Crap", not Fantasy. Anyway, Silmarillion + The Hobbit + Lord of the Ring trilogy is still the best fantasy series ever imo.
