See the HP I got, has a 17 inch anti-glare screen, 4 GB ram (and upgrading to 8 is free), 2.53 GHtz, the fan is at the side (meaning that on your lap or on your bed it won't over-heat), and while Macbooks come available with more HD - 500 GB is still nothing to laugh at. It also comes with a Blu-Ray player standard.
All of this for $400-$500 - when the Macbook that can match what this thing somes with standard is $4000 (according to the online Apple store)
The computer itself is made of steel, backed by 95 000 hours of quality testing, comes with an accelerometer that parks the hard drive if it drops - comes with those new spill-resistant keyboards, and comes with a warrenty that lasts long enough that it'll be time to replace the computer anyways when it expires
I'm sorry - but for my money - that's the best I'm doing short of building my own desktop

Dear iPad: Thanks for making all of us real Mac users look like a bunch of raging douchetards. what does ipad have to do with mac, besides being made by apple

yeah the new mac book pros are amazing im either getting the 15 inch or 17 inch, both come with QUAD core processors, either i5 or i7

most computers come with two duo cores - there's no real difference between a quad and two duos
hell - my current computer has two duo cores - and it's 4 years old
Quad cores aren't really a selling point
like I said - $400 as apposed to $4000 (again - according to the apple store)

well her aust, you know that the majority of laptops out atm are not sandy bridge... wheras new apple macbook pro's have sandy bridge... also completely tuned specifically for their laptop....

...the hell is Sandy Bridge?
*looks it up*
Huh - didn't know that was finished
Yeah - see - your argument is basically "buy macbook pros because they got Intel's new processors first" This is INTEL - they're not owned by apple - EVERY processor they make will have Sandy Bridge - and EVERY computer comes with Intel processors STANDARD
In a year, AMD will probably have the same thing, but cheaper

UGH AMD already have something thats better than most intel chips www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdPi4GPEI74 (srsly fusion yo) the only difference is that the intel chips used in macbooks are specifically designed FOR the macbook. Mac have good software + hardware which makes using a computer for general use, such as browsing the internet and writing up word document a much better affair with the long battery life given from the better combination (dont even try contesting that) and macbook did not get intels chips first, the first manufacturer with sandybridge was (i think) HP but from my experience with HP... oh man i got 3 broken laptops from them which i sent back and was forced to get a Dell because of college work. Anyway my point is My argument is that Macbook pro is a much better platform for general use than a normal laptop. As i said if u want something for gaming and general use get a Laptop due to choice of graphics and CPU's (like a dell XPS or whatever HP equivalent as long as its not faulty!) I know your seeing me as some fuckin MAC BOOK 4 LYF.... i dont own one but I cant ignore that they are good machinery and they are more expensive for a reason... because they work and you'll get a much longer lifespan out of a Macbook than you would with a laptop. Also uh in terms of desktops, custom built all the way cus you can mix and match components if you want and makes u feel like you've had a computer for ages when its really just the hard drive thats the same lol. Also never buy apple desktops ... thats just ... yeah.... totes bro

I'd believe the price argument if Macbooks were priced competitively - they're not. Almost every single one of their computer products is overpriced that can very easily matched by a much cheaper computer running Windows.
More expensive means it's more expensive, not that it's better. It's the first rule of statistics applied to economics - correlation =/= causation, therefore more expensive =/= better. Laptops are more expensive then desktops - but they're not better then them, now are they?
Regardless, I'm done with this argument - it's reached pointless a long time ago.

I'm glad they brought back the 17" version of the MacBook pro. 15" as the top end model was kind of dumb.

Because it's SMALLER AND OF LESSER QUALITY IN ORDER TO BE PORTABLE it's justified in being more expensive? That argument applies to ALL laptops, not just macbooks. I know I said I'm done - but that's just... wow.

I know I said I'm done - but that's just... wow. i didn't say i was arguing for macbooks at all. i just pointed out the flaw in your argument, because you missed the fact that you can't compare laptops and dekstops as if they had the same qualities and goals.

I wasn't comparing quality! I was compairing price effectiveness!

I wasn't comparing quality! I was compairing price effectiveness! ' then i'd say the laptop wins by far, atleast if you move 20 feet to the left
