I vote we should start with weekly. If it becomes apparent that monthly is necessary later, we could possibly try to add it.
I think it should be a combo of: email, wiki, and have them posted for download.

I also vote for weekly. A project like this seems like it would be easier to manage in weekly chunks.
As for a monthly newsletter, I don't think it would be too much work for someone to read through the weekly newsletters for one month and summarize the big events, projects, and discussions of that month. Maybe that could be a job for an editor or two, or the (main) responsibility could be passed around from month to month. But yeah, let's just start off with the weekly newsletter and see where it goes first.
I also agree with having a combo of e-mail, wiki, and posted for download (on the forum?). We might also ask the mods/admins to post the link to the newsletter [post] at the top of every topic, where "Administrative Changes" and the Pogotoks are posted. (If this thing gets big enough, it might warrant a sub-forum...? I guess it all depends on how we're distributing it.)

And that's a good idea, the sticky at the top of the thread, it would be easy for people to casually look at it, if they don't want an e-mail every week.

Weekly is good, we won't get behind on anything too fast and shouldn't have too much content to cover per newsletter, we should probably keep it quite short-ish, making it easier on both us and the reader.

I say we start out monthly for now, however we might want to do it weekly later on.

The "Letters to Grover: The PogoTribe Newsletter" is a great name. I can help with this sometimes, I have taken Journalism classes in the past, so that may help.
I can help the best with the editing process.

I can help the best with the editing process. Great! We need some editors, I was thinking of doing the editing in Google docs, so it can be a collaboration between say 3 or 4 editors. Once we're all in agreement that it's the final version, it can be sent to someone with InDesign to put into ze template. Then BAM! Newsletter done!

My take/layout idea on the Newsletter. Rough rough rough stage right now, so feel free to comment, rate and... Oh, wrong place. Comment, critique, and improve. =D tinypic.com/r/2wn1r9x/6Annnnnd: tinypic.com/r/166n7a0/6I'd put up previews, but A. They'd prolly take too long to load, and they're huge (thatswhatshesaid).

Honestly, I can't learn and improve any other way... I'm a masochist when it comes to my art/design.

FIRST POST UPDATED!!! AGAIN!!! (new things to be decided upon)
About asking the admins about the sticky part of the forum. I think we should have a finished copy first so we can show them, and then ask them.
Also I was wondering. What will the editors do?

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but I just want to point out that the "Tribes" and the "Forum Government" forums don't really get used, so we shouldn't really assign those to anyone.. If something ends up happening in there, we can find someone for them later on. Also, I think there are some parts of SPOTM that don't need to be covered, such as "Suggestions" and "Forum Games."
As far as what I'd like to cover, I think I'm most active in Projects, so I'd be interested in that. Or I could take Announcements because that's small enough for me to cover on my own.

I love it to be honest. Mine was just a quick throw together in photoshop and illustrator. I don't see this being a problem as things start to roll after Dan's announcement, but remember that expansion might well be nessasary. Also on a side note, it's really time to start getting a deadline for finalizing things as time is slipping away. Thank you all for you time and effort! This is awesome!

Nice, some really great ideas in there! Hope you don't mind but I kinda ran with it... drp.ly/yWUaVNice, your design has more flow, I think, and uses the article space alot better. The picture border thing is a little odd, just to me, I'm sure you have reasoning behind the drops xD. I like the article separation, I was having a hard time finding a suitable and manageable way to do it, but yours works pretty well. Just a personal thought, I thought Letters to Grover was the name, but the Newsletter was the main focus. I might be wrong, I was never in that thread, and I don't know how it started/became this >.> Which is why my newsletter title is so much bigger than 'Letters to Grover'. Like I said, I may be mistaken. A couple things I think you, myself, Nick, and anyone else who's designing/wants to design should talk about are: Colors Fonts Finalized layout design. I say we pick a time/date and Skype, or get on some similar chat board, it could be just an irc chat, or something, so the lot of us can all discuss and collaborate on a final piece.
