Just a personal thought, I thought Letters to Grover was the name, but the Newsletter was the main focus. I might be wrong, I was never in that thread, and I don't know how it started/became this >.> Which is why my newsletter title is so much bigger than 'Letters to Grover'. Like I said, I may be mistaken It started as a way to keep in touch with Grover, a member who will be without internet for, I believe, a year (but, I'm probably wrong) doing his mission(If you know anything about the mormon church, they do this usually between high school and college, but I think it's about when they turn 18). Anyway, the point is that he'll be unable to check up with what's happening and be involved on the internet so we are going to send him a paper copy of the newsletter telling him what's going on and he'll be able to mail back his thoughts/responses to everything that's happening. Anyway, that's going through nickgreyden, I believe. But we thought that since we would already be coming up with one anyway, why not email it to everyone? Also, I agree about the drips thing...sorta odd. Looks emo to me, but that may just be the black.

Haha, yeah, I can kill the drops, they were kind of a last minute thing to make it seem more 'unique' I guess. We can use that room for the articles. halfthecarbs I liked the Idea of 'Letters to Grover' being the main title, as it symbolises some origin to it and also shows why our community is great because we got together to keep Grover in the loop. It also gives it a newspaper-esque feel by having something more centred. Oh and I can do a Skype chat whenever

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but I just want to point out that the "Tribes" and the "Forum Government" forums don't really get used, so we shouldn't really assign those to anyone.. If something ends up happening in there, we can find someone for them later on. Also, I think there are some parts of SPOTM that don't need to be covered, such as "Suggestions" and "Forum Games." As far as what I'd like to cover, I think I'm most active in Projects, so I'd be interested in that. Or I could take Announcements because that's small enough for me to cover on my own. This brings up a great point. Seen as there are going to be at least 8 people working on the writing, not all threads will bring important information, and the newsletter wont be more than a paper or two, I was thinking... What if we divide the writers into Group A, and Group B. One week it would be the duty of Group A to come up with the articles for the paper, while the next week Group B would be in charged. This not only gives equal opportunity for everyone, but means that the task wont be as busy, and meetings wont be as large. P.S. for those who haven't chosen their topics I'll be sending you a PM. We need to have this decided asap.

Deciding the topic is kind of a problem. D: Well, where do you spend most of your time on the forum? Would you be up for writing articles about the subjects of that section? Where do your interests lie, in terms of subject-matter? =) It seems like the main topics that we will be covering are the following: Projects Introductions Anything and Everything - Debate Club The Internets Btw, how are we dividing this up? Two people per topic, unless it looks like more people will be needed?
@ricky Re: The editors' duty An editor would probably be responsible for making sure people are meeting their deadlines, correcting grammatical and spelling errors within the articles, and moderating meetings? Maybe also giving the okay for which topics are being covered that week? I dunno. PunchJunky I like the watermark/low-opacity icon you've put in the header there. Do you think we would be able have a similar low-opacity image in one of the lower corners? Some of the spacing's a little off, though... is the hyphen between the author and the content of the articles necessary? Could there just be a space there? For color, maybe there could be a different color scheme for every month? Or even a different theme for every month? As for meeting up to discuss the design in detail, I'm available at 3:30/4 PM PST and beyond during almost any given weekday. (Skype: speckley_bat) Geez, there are a lot of question marks in this post of mine. XD (I'm considering changing my icon to The Question. *hur hur*)

Yes Speckley, you get an A in my book, just for that post ;D
Also what about the separating of the group into two parts. Specially since there are 4 subjects and eight people. That way group A gets one subject for each member one week, and group B gets it next week, and so on...

We could also start a Google Wave about this if people are up for that? Handy as an ongoing discussion/editable document with all our ideas so far...

But I don't think alot of people have Google Wave. And I've only ever used mine a couple times, it's a more steep learning curve than I've seen in other programs/tools. I might be able to make it. My skype is thathonestboy. I'm leaving school at 6:30 PST, which is 8:30 CST. So I might be a bit late, but not by much i think. I'm sure we could push it back a little, that's no problem. So, I guess I kind of missed the part about skype/tinychat.. What are we doing? Just talking to finalize ideas? I want to be there.. If it's Skype, my username is chelseeyuh.. if it's tinychat... I don't know what that is... Tinychat is basically like tinypic or tinyurl. Just a site where people go and can chat, just make a room and instantly chat. Really simple =D

To be honest I would be more comfortable if it was Tinychat, just because my english is better written than spoken... Would you believe that 6 years ago I didn't speak a word of english? well, except for "Hi" and "bye"... XD
made for very short and awkward conversations...

Skype can be used as a written chatroom. It's not just for conference calls and the like, although that's what it's used for primarily.
Anyway, I'm up for either Skype or tinychat at that time.

At this point it looks like this will be over Skype, but if anyone wants to join in but is without it we can switch to tinychat. Sound good?

Hey look, we've got a wiki page now! If you think something needs changing, either say here, or add to the discussion part of the wiki. (And if you spot any grammatical/spelling errors, please fix them right quick. XD)
